Terms of service for electronically supplied services
The rules for using the steers.com.pl website, the contact form and the client portal — in accordance with the Act of 18 July 2002 on the Provision of Electronic Services (ustawa o świadczeniu usług drogą elektroniczną).
Last updated: 08.09.2026
1. General provisions
These Terms set out the types and scope of services supplied electronically, the conditions for supplying them, the conditions for concluding and terminating contracts for these services, and the complaint-handling procedure — in accordance with Art. 8(1)(1) of the Act of 18 July 2002 on the Provision of Electronic Services.
The Terms are made available free of charge on this website, in a form allowing them to be downloaded, played back and recorded.
The Terms do not cover the accounting service itself: keeping books, tax settlements and HR/payroll are governed by a separate accounting services agreement and a data processing agreement.
2. Definitions
- Service provider — the company operating the Steers accounting office, whose registration details are given in the site footer and in the box at the end of this document.
- Website — the website available at steers.com.pl, together with its subpages.
- Platform — the Steers web application, available to Clients at a separate address, used to exchange documents and information with the office.
- Client portal — a Client's individual account on the Platform, together with the data and permissions assigned to it.
- Client — an entrepreneur with whom the Service provider has concluded an accounting services agreement.
- User — any person using the Website, including the Client and people authorised by the Client to use the Client portal.
- Electronic services — services supplied electronically, described in point 3.
3. Types and scope of electronic services
- Access to the Website's content — free access to information about services, the price list and documents, supplied on a one-off basis, for the time you browse the site.
- Contact form — a free service allowing you to send an enquiry and receive a response or a quote; the contract is concluded for a fixed term, until a response is given.
- Client portal — a service available only to Clients with an accounting services agreement in force, comprising uploading and scanning documents, viewing their statuses, communicating with the accountant, access to information about taxes and deadlines, and access to HR/payroll documentation. The service is supplied for the term of the main agreement and is covered by the fee for accounting services.
- Integrations — at the Client's request, the Platform may retrieve data from the Client's external systems (POS, HR, banking, e-commerce). The scope and conditions of each integration are agreed separately.
4. Technical requirements
Using the Website and the Platform requires:
- a device with internet access and an up-to-date web browser supporting HTML5, JavaScript and cookies (Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge, no older than the two most recently released versions),
- an active email account,
- for scanning documents by phone — a device with a camera and iOS or Android in a version supported by the manufacturer,
- an encrypted connection; the Website and the Platform operate exclusively over HTTPS.
5. Risks and safeguards
In accordance with Art. 6(1) of the Act on the Provision of Electronic Services, we inform you that using electronic services involves typical risks: the possibility of receiving unsolicited correspondence, the action of malicious software, attempts to steal login credentials (phishing), and unauthorised access to the User's device.
We recommend using up-to-date antivirus software, keeping your system and browser updated, using a unique password, and using two-factor authentication where it is available in the Client portal.
6. Client portal account and security
- The account is set up by the Service provider after the accounting services agreement is concluded, based on the data provided by the Client.
- The Client designates the people authorised to use the Portal and the scope of their permissions, and promptly informs the office when access must be withdrawn, in particular once cooperation with a given person ends.
- Login credentials are confidential; a User may not share them with third parties or use another person's account.
- If there is a suspicion that login credentials have fallen into unauthorised hands, the password must be changed immediately and the office notified.
- The Service provider may temporarily block access to an account where this is necessary for data security, informing the Client of this and stating the reason.
- The Client is responsible for the actions of anyone to whom it granted access to the Portal, as for its own actions.
7. Rules for using the Website and the Platform
The User undertakes to use the services in accordance with the law, these Terms and good practice. In particular, it is prohibited to:
- supply content of an unlawful character, including content infringing third-party rights, offensive, or misleading,
- upload documents or data which the User has no legal basis to process,
- introduce malicious software into the Website or the Platform,
- take actions disrupting the operation of the services, including attempts at unauthorised access, automated data scraping, and loading the system beyond normal use,
- use the Platform for any purpose other than handling the Client's own settlements.
8. Intellectual property rights
The Website and the Platform, including their graphic layout, texts, trademarks, source code and documentation, are the property of the Service provider or are used by it under appropriate licences, and are protected by copyright.
The Client receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Platform within its own business activity, for the term of the agreement. This does not include the right to copy, decompile, resell or grant third parties access.
Documents and data entered by the Client remain its property; the Service provider processes them solely to perform the agreement.
9. Availability and technical downtime
The Service provider makes efforts to keep the Platform continuously available, but reserves the right to technical downtime necessary for updates, maintenance or fault removal.
We inform of planned downtime in advance in the Client portal or by email, scheduling it, where possible, outside working hours and outside periods of heightened reporting obligations.
Unavailability of the Platform does not release either party from the obligations under the accounting services agreement; in such a case documents can be delivered by an agreed alternative means.
10. Liability
The Service provider is liable on the general principles of the Civil Code, taking into account the limitations arising from the Act on the Provision of Electronic Services.
The Service provider is not liable for the consequences of a User providing false or incomplete data, for documents delivered after the deadlines agreed in the agreement, or for interruptions resulting from circumstances beyond its control, including failures on the part of connectivity providers, the Client's external systems, or public administration systems.
Liability for advisory work and bookkeeping is governed by the accounting services agreement; the office's activity is covered by the mandatory professional liability insurance for entrepreneurs providing bookkeeping services.
The limitations of liability do not apply to damage caused intentionally, nor to liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory provisions of law.
11. Complaints
- A complaint concerning the electronic services can be submitted by email to the office's email address, or in writing to the address of its registered office.
- The complaint should contain the User's details, a description of the irregularity, the date it occurred, and the expected way of resolving the matter.
- The Service provider handles the complaint within 14 days of receiving it and informs of the outcome in the same form in which the complaint was submitted.
- If the information provided is insufficient, the Service provider asks for it to be supplemented; the time limit then runs from the day the information is supplemented.
- Complaints concerning accounting services are handled on the terms set out in the accounting services agreement.
12. Termination of the agreement for electronic services
- Use of the Website and the form can be ended at any time by leaving the site or deciding not to send an enquiry.
- The agreement for use of the Client portal expires when the accounting services agreement is terminated or expires.
- After cooperation ends, the Client is given the opportunity to download its documents from the Platform within the period agreed in the main agreement, not shorter than 30 days; after that period, access to the Portal is closed.
- The Service provider may terminate the agreement for electronic services with 14 days' notice if the User grossly breaches these Terms, after first calling on the User to stop the breach.
13. Changes to these Terms
The Service provider may change these Terms for important reasons: changes in the law, changes in the scope or manner of supplying the services, security requirements, or technical changes to the Platform.
We inform of a change on the Website and — for Clients — in the Client portal or by email, with at least 14 days' notice. No objection before the changes take effect is treated as acceptance of them; an objection is treated as termination of the agreement for electronic services.
14. Governing law and final provisions
In matters not regulated by these Terms, Polish law applies, in particular the Civil Code, the Act on the Provision of Electronic Services, and personal data protection law.
These Terms are addressed to entrepreneurs; the services are not directed at consumers within the meaning of Art. 22(1) of the Civil Code. If in a specific case the User were a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection provisions apply and take precedence over these Terms.
The parties will try to resolve any disputes amicably, and failing that, the dispute will be settled by the court having jurisdiction over the Service provider's registered office.
These Terms are in force from the date indicated as the date of the last update.
